Practice Expedition for Silver DofE Award 2023
Recently students were busy practising for their Silver DofE qualifying expedition which is taking place in July. Four teams travelled to Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, where they took part in a three day and two night expedition which included 7 hours of planned activity each day.
Teams planned their own routes, journeyed independently and were self-sufficient throughout, typically covering distances of around 19km per day. The weather conditions were certainly testing, however the expedition was a great success with students demonstrating outstanding navigation, organisation, leadership, resilience and team working skills.
